This document provides a general list of our goto list of tools and plugins.

Working with Git

• Create your own branch to work off of for each project.
• The master branch should always be in sync with production.
• The develop branch should always be in sync with staging.

NOTE: All extensions/updates should be done locally in git and pushed to production/staging though this workflow. Don’t add files on production as they will be overwritten with future commits.

Framework/Theme

• All assets are controlled in the assets/ folder.
• WYSIWYG’s are intended for styling text not for layout.

MVP has a few goto lightweight javascript plugins that should be used first. To keep down on bloat and unwanted complexity attempt the following before looking for other solutions.

JS Plugins

• Slick Slider for sliders that break down inconsistently
• Flickity is also a good solution for sliders
• Mixitup has shown to be useful for complex filters and pagination with animations
• Micromodal.js has been great for modals

WordPress Plugins

• Advanced Custom Fields is invaluable for WordPress theme development.
• Nginx Cache for interacting with production servers using Nginx cache (usually FastCGI).
• Redis Cache for interacting with production servers Redis caching (Not common).
• Contact Form 7 works flawlessly for simple forms.
